Technical Requirements

Supported Browsers

  • Mozilla Firefox 88+

  • Chromebook (Chrome OS)

Device Requirements

  • Desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone
  • Minimum 1024x768 screen resolution
  • JavaScript enabled
  • Cookies enabled for authentication
  • Audio capability (for narration)

Bandwidth Requirements

1 Mbps

Per session

Audio narration and interactive content require stable internet connectivity. Video content (if used) may require additional bandwidth.

No Software Installation Required

Cyber Jack Academy is a 100% web-based application. There is no software to install, no browser extensions required, and no local data storage. Students access the platform through any supported web browser.

Domains to Whitelist

Please ensure the following domains are accessible from your network:

Ports Required

  • 443 (HTTPS) - All traffic
  • 80 (HTTP) - Redirects to HTTPS

No special ports or protocols are required beyond standard web traffic.

Firewall Considerations

  • Allow outbound HTTPS (443)
  • No inbound rules required
  • WebSocket not required

Content Filtering Notes

If your district uses content filtering (e.g., Securly, GoGuardian, Lightspeed), please add cyberjackacademy.com to your allowed list. Our platform is educational and contains no ads, social media, or inappropriate content.

Data Flow Overview

Understanding how data moves through our system helps IT teams assess security and compliance.

Data Flow Path

API requests go to application server (TLS encrypted)

Data stored in MongoDB Atlas (encrypted at rest, US region)

Data at Rest

  • Location: MongoDB Atlas (US East)
  • Encryption: AES-256
  • Backups: Automated daily, 7-day retention
  • Certification: SOC 2 Type II (Atlas)

Data in Transit

  • Protocol: HTTPS only (TLS 1.3)
  • Certificates: Auto-renewed via Let's Encrypt
  • HSTS: Enabled
  • API Auth: JWT Bearer tokens

Third-Party Data Sharing

Student data is never shared with third parties for advertising or marketing. Limited data is shared only with essential service providers:

Google Workspace for Education

Teachers and students can sign in using their school Google accounts. No additional configuration is required on your end — users simply click "Sign in with Google" and authorize access.

Permissions requested: Email address and basic profile information only. We do not request access to Google Drive, Gmail, or other services.

Administrator Features

School administrators have access to a dedicated dashboard with the following capabilities:
